Electra Complex

Electra Complex, as coined by Sigmund Freud, refers to the innate urge of a daughter’s desire to kill her mother in order to pursue sexual relations with her father. She desires to be with her father due to “penis envy”. This idea is largely regarded as unsubstantiated by psychologists today however remains a highly popular concept.
