Oedipus Complex

Oedipus Complex, as coined by Sigmund Freud, refers to the innate urge of a son’s desire to kill his father in order to pursue sexual relations with his mother. The son does not act upon his desire as he fears his father’s wrath. This idea is largely regarded as unsubstantiated by psychologists today however remains a highly popular concept.
