Ego

The phrase Ego refers to the integrated combination of identity (I), perspective (eye) and will (Sharp, 2007).

 Ego = I + Eye + Will

Within the Fabric of Consciousness, ego arises as an Intensification of Consciousness. At the point where consciousness becomes self aware of it's independent existence and perspective, "speaks" the words I AM, ego can be said to exist.

Ego did not always exist. Before the Fabric of Consciousness intensified into the monadic spark of god, there was no ego, there was simply the blissful, but unaware, Fabric of Consciousness. However, at the point of the intensification, when god is born in the fabric, so too is the first EGO, the first I, the first eye, and the first will brought into existence. This original monadic spark, and all subsequent intensifications in the Fabric of Consciousness, may be referred to as Spiritual Ego

Your spiritual consciousness is not the only thing that can have an ego. The human body, for example, has the fascinating ability to develop it's own independent ego which, while apparently and distinct from the Spiritual Ego, is nevertheless merely a "reflection" of Spiritual Ego within the Crown Chakra of the Physical Unit. The bodily ego shares the same characteristics as the Spirit Ego. That is, it is defined by the presence of self awareness (I), perspective (eye), and will.

It is perhaps unnecessary to say that the concept of ego is often misunderstood in spiritual, religious, esoteric, and even scientific tests. From admonition that we "destroy" the bodily ego (eastern mystical traditions) to the lopsided development of the Crown Chakra (which is the formal seat of the Bodily Ego) into a linear, left brain monster ego is the problem child of veiled existence. Most misconceptions can, however, be swept away by focusing on the conceptual definition of ego and moving there in sociological, psychological, and even spiritual analysis.
